Has that tech ever been applied to medical science?

Our living ships are the apex of our technological advances, but the technology that advanced their development has been applied widely otherwise. Naturally medical science has benefited, amongst others, our failed attempts at procreation notwithstanding.

The brain's like a computer. Files and connections and backups. If that's damaged on an AI, do you know how to fix it?

That depends on the damage that's been done. Too much trauma, and generally speaking you have to rely on the brain to heal itself--it has that ability.

I profess human medicine isn't exactly an interest of mine. We have the Fours for that.

Are you sure about that? Because I'm getting the sense that you might actively be encouraging that.

There are only a select few people in Communications that have the capability to hack into and read someone's private communications on this network, and Laura Roslin is not one of them.

I simply find it to be a curious contradiction. As a department, you've spent your time honing a skill that, should I attempt it, I find myself flagged to Security. Don't you find that odd?

We can't protect the network from someone who'd like to rip it apart if we don't know how to do that ourselves. That's all it is. It's not about spying on people on board this ship, but keeping it from happening to them.

I get flagged to Security every time I make an attempt. The difference is that they know I've been attempting it with dummy posts, and I'm authorized. And you can be sure that if I tried to hack into someone's inbox, someone from Security would be breathing down my neck wanting to know why, and what justification I had.

Does that set your mind at ease at all?
